Contains original Arabic text of Imam Al-Dhahabi's (d. 764/1348) famous book Al-Kabair with English translation. The Arabic and English texts are on alternate pages. It lists seventy major sins and provides references from the Qur'an, Hadith, and the sayings of the early Muslims. Major sins are all those acts that are clearly prohibited in the Qur'an and the Sunnah. While staying away from all sins is the goal of a Muslim, staying clear of major sins is even more important because of severe warnings about those who commit them. Translated by Mahmoud Ibraheem.
In al-Kabair, Al-Dhahabi comes across as a guiding preacher who seeks correct beleifs and for righteousness in actions of all his readers. He uses an easy to understnad language and a clear charming style, far from complexity, obscurity, and artificiality. This book has been a great resource for the orators and preachers, a warning for the ignorant, a restraint for the disobedient and perverted, and a guide for those who want to follow the straight path to Allah.
