Sacrificing Cows for Atonement
| Q.) There was a report stating that the Taliban has announced there will be a sacrifice of 100 cows as atonement for delaying the demolishion of the statues. Can you please say if this is from Islam or is it a Bid'ah. [Omar] |
A.) It is not prohibited for one to slaughter an animal and give its meat as charity to the poor and needy for the atonement of one’s sins and shortcomings.
