Making up for Petty Theft

By Mufti Ebrahim Desai

Q.) In my school life, I had a habit of stealing stationery items, Parker pens etc,. What should I do as I now wish to make up the stolen goods. I cannot find the people whom I stole from. [Name withheld ]

A.) If it is not possible to locate the owners of the stationery, then we advise the value of the stationery be given in charity and Istighfaar and Tawbah be made.

And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
