Q.) Can you please explain whether a Muslim woman can sing Islamic songs publicly under any conditions e.g, only for children or only for the use of women. [M.Sheikh]

A.) A Muslim female may sing Anaasheed only for children or for women.

A mother may sing a Nasheed for her child. It is prohibited for a woman to sing Anasheed for adult males. It is also prohibited for adult males to listen to such Anasheeds.
